Hello,

 

I've seen a few people with this problem, but none of the solutions I've found have worked for me. I have a text box with a single sentence written using different typefaces and sizes. See below:

I want to move the top text down to the edge of the rectangle frame box so that the space between 'Win a' and '€250' is the same as '€250' and 'Voucher'. But it won't budge. If I select all the text I can alter the leading no problem. If I select 'voucher' on it's own, I can adjust it's leading no problem. If I select '€250', I can make the leading bigger, but not smaller. But 'Win a' will not move either way. It's not a case of the paragraph symbol being a different size to the text. I've already found that solution and it failed to fix my problem. The text is not aligned to a baseline grid, and the text box is not is set to 'top' and not 'justify'. I've encountered this problem before, but this is the first time it's bothered me enough to make me actively look for a solution. I really can't understand why one piece of text won't move, one will move limitedly, and the other can be adjusted with ease. Any suggestions?

Hello everyone

 

 

I work on Apple.

 

 

My question is a bit complex. The company where I work has asked me to make a powerpoint presentation of the company's activities. I did it on Indesign. I integrated videos and animations on certain objects.

 

 

The goal is to put this presentation on a terminal Windows Vista. I would like it to run continuously and images scroll automatically. I would also like to set a time for each page.

 

 

When I put an EPUB format on the terminal via Redium on Chrome there is no option to launch an automatic diaporma and the animations do not start.

 

 

Can someone help me?

Ma question est un peu complèxe. La société où je travaille m'a demandé de réaliser une présentation type powerpoint des activités de la société. Je l'ai fait sur Indesign. J'y ai intégré des vidéos et des animations sur certains objets.

 

 

Le but est de mettre cette présentation sur une borne Windows Vista. J'aimerai qu'elle fonctionne en boucle sans arrêt et que les images défilent automatiquement. J'aimerai aussi définir un temps pour chaque page.

I need to add some images to the project. I click on the ctrl+d and select images then click ctrl+shift+lmb and images are added with incorrect size.
When i added image in single file he is added with normal size.

How to add multiple images with normal size?

Is there a way to import my word files, even one by one, but get its content recognized and styled / placed correctly?

If I place an image in a graphic frame (part of master page) then "Fit Content to Frame," does it auto-scale it proportionately?

I have been working on projects in the new CC 2018 version of InDesign, saved it out as an IDML as to be able to open the work on another computer that has InDesign CS 6. However, when I try to open up the file in CS 6 I get a message saying:

Cannot open file " File name.idml". Adobe InDesign may not support the file format, a plug-in that supports the file format may be missing, or the file may be open in another application.

I have made sure all plugins are up to date on both of the versions as well as that no other applications are open when trying to open the file up in the CS 6 InDesign. There has been no success.

Please help, I have screenshots if necessary if that will help, as well as the files.

Hi everyone,

 

I've just upgraded to Indesign CS5. I've also downloaded the patch so that it's version 7.03.

 

When I try to export to pdf, I get an error that says: 1 problem was found with a background task: Failed to export an eps item on page A.

 

I get the same error when I try to export any file at all.

 

Anyone know why this is happening? It worked fine in CS4.

 

Appreciate any advice.

Trying to separate some text boxes but leave the text where it is. Every time I double-click to unlink, the text in my 2nd box disappears and goes back to the bottom [red +] of the first box.

 

Any help?

Hi,

Is there an InDesign equivalent to "reset bounding box" (an Illustrator option) on rotated items? I'm working on a layout with a bunch of angled text boxes. It'd be helpful if I could change their bounding boxes to straight again, though I couldn't find an option for that. Thought I'd ask in case I've overlooked it.

I‘vê been trying to place a PDF into an InDesign CS5 filé for hours now. All PDFs created until yesterday are placeable. PDFs created today are not. In design says file doesn’t exist, had no permission or is already open. when I try to open the PDF and save-as over a PDF that is placeable Acrobat tells me the file is read-only. Maybe this is an Acrobat issue. But can anyone please help me. I’m desperate. Thanks,

I've noticed numerous soft returns in our body copy and my editor assures me that they are NOT being added by our editorial staff.  I've looked at the original Word Docs (Docx) and they aren't coming from those files.

 

These extra soft returns are causing a number of H&J violations and have become an issue.  Anyone else have this problem?

 

We are using a InDesign/InCopy workflow, so let me know if there's a way to backtrack and see when they were added.

SOOOO FRUSTRATING!!!!

 

So I keep getting this error when I use the "Publish Online" tool, It looks like its working and then errors out with error #14 -  which when you up look that error( which I have- MANY TIMES) it says "Server temporarily unavailable. Try again after some time." ...... OK got it. I try again and I've been getting the same error for the past 3 weeks!!!

 

SOMEONE PLEASE HELP!!! I'M GOING CRAZY TRYING TO FIGURE THIS OUT!!!!

All of the sudden my Indesign is giving me an error box whenever I click File>New>Document or Ctrl+N

A blank error box appears and has %CCX_FNFT_DIALOG_NAME as the header. It won't let me create a new document.

I can still open an existing document however.

Any ideas?

ある外字フォント「A」のIMEパッド内での文字コードが「0xF4531,0x4533」の文字を文字化けせずに入力したいと思っています。(4⃣と6⃣が表示される予定です。上図の橙色で 四角く囲った部分を参照)

上の画像のようにインデザインで表示させたいです。

 

 

ところが、インデザイン上で文字フォントを合わせてみたところ文字化けを起こしてしまってうまく表示できません。(赤い四角で囲った部分です)

※④は文字フォント「A」のフォントを使用しているため文字化けは起こらず表示されています。

 

使いたい文字フォント「A」と文字コードは予め決まっていたため変えられません。どうすれば文字化けを起こさず表示できるのでしょうか。

I am producing a standard type book. I set up a text box for headers in the master pages for base text. I was able to put new text in each chapter for the chapter title. All was going well and I was putting in pictures in the normal text. Then I realized I had forgotten a couple of images. When I put them in it moved only the text along in front of the image. But it messed up some of the headers. They now have a box with a red plus on the end. If I click on it and put somewhere it only shows a couple of A's. But I am unable to erase or add the title text. If I cut the box and copy and paste another, it retains the problem. I'm using Indesign CC 2018 on a mac with High Sierra. Suggestions?

I have a 100 page Indesign document (CC) I imported from Word. I need to go back and insert an image on about every page. The only way I can think of is to use the Enter key to add blank spaces so that the placed image does not cover up the existing text. There HAS to be a better way!

I need to change the orientation and paper size of my booklet but indesign won't allow me to. I am unable to change the PPD from device independent to Adobe PDF 9.0 as it only shows device independent as my only option? HELP!

Hello all.  I'm wondering if there is a way that a table's column and rows can be switched in a table, i.e. make current column headers into the rows and vice versa?
