I am trying to use bookmarks to navigate my document. I have created a table of contents with Heading 1 and Heading 2. There are 6 sections beginning with a Heading 1 paragraph style. After I generate the table of contents, the bookmarks panel shows 1 top level heading, with the next Heading 1 level appearing underneath the first one, and the other 4 Heading 1 levels appearing underneath the 2nd Heading 1 level. All of the Heading 1 levels should appear at the top level. Last week, in the same document, all of the bookmarks appeared where they should - with all of the Heading 1's at the top level - after generating a table of contents. What could be causing this?
I am using Indesign 5.5 in Windows Vista/Windows 8. I am saving the file to Dropbox, editing it with the Vista desktop at the office and my Windows 8 ultrabook at home.
