Every version of InDesign CC so far has had this bug:
When switching from the Selection tool (V) to the Text tool (by double-clicking in a text box) there is a 1-2 second delay before you can select text.
Steps to reproduce bug:
- Make a text box and fill with text
- Select the Selection tool (V)
- Double-click inside the text box so that you see a cursor
- Immediately try to select text
Results: You have to wait 1-2 seconds before you can select text.
Expected results: There should not be a delay. There was no delay in the Creative Suite versions (CS1-CS6).

I had the Adobe support representative test this on their system and they were able to confirm it.
**********
I first became aware of this issue in early 2014. Adobe said that it was a known issue and that they were "working on a solution."
So, I checked in with every new "update" and the issue had not been resolved. Every time I talk to a representative, they say they are "working on it."
Adobe is the industry-leading software manufacturer, yet their engineers cannot fix a simple bug and make the software run like it already had for decades?
After 2 and a half years of listening to "we are working on it," I officially do not believe that they are working on it. Their reputation has been severely damaged in my opinion and I do not like the direction the company is headed in.
Shameful.
