Fit Frame to Content causing crashing

Hi anyone have any ideas, over the last two months periodically i choose "fit frame to content" and it just crashes my indesign.

I have 5.5 on a PC

• Reinstalled the whole Adobe suite
• Deleted existing preferences
• Deleted any new scripts
• Have also turned live preflight off

I have little hope that my company will let me upgrade anytime soon so any help will be great!
