I'm using Windows 10 and I've had Creative Clouds apps on this computer for several months with no problem. A couple of days ago I've been unable to launch InDesign. I've used CC Cleaner to uninstall and reinstall, I've restarted the system... no luck here. When I click "Open" on the desk top app, it briefly hits "verifying license" then goes to "Please Wait a Moment" and stays there FOREVER. I'm on a tight deadline for work and this is super frustrating... does anyone have any answers?
Stuck on "Please Wait a Moment" when trying to launch InDesign... help!
Use a custom script for a button in an interactive PDF?
Hey all,
I'm working on a project for work that will be an interactive PDF and I'd like to have one of the buttons jump ahead two pages.
I don't think the script would be hard to write for that, but I can't figure out how to attach a script/action to a button, and if the custom script/action will work in an interactive PDF.
Thanks

Presentation mode lag?
I started to have this problem just today. Whenever I go into presentation mode (shift + W), the computer really slows down and gets laggy. And after viewing one or two pages, the presentation gets stuck. You can return the regular mode by pressing esc, but can't continue in the presentation mode.
- The problem is not in the file. I've checked some older files, and they have this problem too (when they used to work just fine before). Also I tried the file on another computer, and it worked fine there.
- All CC programs are up to date.
- The computer is not more than 6 months old, and is used just for work. (os x el capitan, 10.11.3)
- I've restarted the computer and deleted indesign preference files. Nothing changed.
Any ideas?
indesign gutter adjustment arrows broke
the gutter up / down arrows under margins and columns tap window don't work anymore, they are requiring manual number input...
Non strikethrough or underline lines in my text
I'm having a problem with lines in certain areas of text in a document that was imported from quark. It is not a rule for the paragraph style, a strikethrough line, or underlined text changed with a baseline shift. It's not on every page with a similar layout. It shows up in the PDF and can be erased as a line in acrobat but I want to erase it at the source of the problem.
Here is an example of how it shows up int he indesign document.
Here is how it shows up in the PDF.
Here is a page with a similar layout that does not display the problem.
Here is how that shows up in the PDF.

Does *Go to destination* work in .Swf ?
Hi,
here is the issue i am facing..
Ive an indesign document of +100 pages
the thing is that i created many buttons in it.. which use the function: *Go to page: XX*..
they work perfectly well.. EXCEPT for one HUMONGOUSSSSSSS issue...
when i add additional pages in the middle of the document..
it messed up ALLLLLLLLL my buttons links.. because all the pages changes..
So i decided to do use the *Go to destination* function.. this way even if i add pages it wont affect my file
I did a test but to my DISMAY... that Go to destination function didn't work!!!
I tested it by exporting it into a .SWF file... - thats what my final file will be
I also tested the *Go to destination* function.. by exporting it in PDF.. & in the interactive PDF.. the button functioned normally..
So my question is.. is the *Go to destination* limited for ONLY interactive PDF???
As it DOES NOT seem to work for .SWF...
can you suggest another solution for my HUGE issue please..
thank you
I have the latest version of indesign CC 2015 & i deleted it & installed it again today
Publish Online Links work on Android, but not on iOS
I have created this pdf document with hyperlinks/buttons. On an android phone, all of the buttons work. On iOS, the top three links do not work. I cannot figure out why?
So frustrating. Anyone else have issues with this?

InDesign CC Shift Key not working
Normally I'd just hold the shift key down to resize an image or object in InDesign CC to constrain its proportions. Lately when I try to resize an image, the shift key doesn't do anything anymore. It no longer holds the proportions of the image box. Is there a way to fix this problem or is there a new tool that replaces the hot key shortcut? Transform > Scale is taking way too much time to resize an image to the proper size I need it to be.
Any and all help is very appreciated.

Change footnote numbers in InDesign
I'm laying out a book and using several different text boxes that aren't linked. Several text boxes have footnotes but the footnote numbering starts over in each new text box. So even though a footnote may be the first in the text box, it's actually, say, the 6th in the book. So I want the superscript number of the footnote to read "6" not "1."
Is there a way to change individual footnote numbers?
Thanks!
Frame fitting shortcut removed from Indesign
The frame fitting options to 'Fill frame proportionally' and 'Fit content to frame' have been quick, one click adjustments in the top tool bar
Why were these buttons removed from the update. Feels like a mistake.
I cannot customize my toolbar to see the frame fitting options. This sucks as I need to quickly frame fit a lot of objects.
PageMaker to Indesign
I would like to retire Pagemaker.
I installed InDesign CS6.
I then open my Pagemaker project of 65 megs.
It opens but the images are blurry and the quality is poor.
I then save the file as an InDesign file.
The size is then reduced to 14 megs (again, poor picture quality).
My goal is to then open that InDesign CS6 file in InDesign CC going forward.
How do I get my Pagemaker file to open in InDesign where I can maintain the quality of my 120 images?
AI stroke imported to ID is funky after being distilled to PDF
In Illustrator, I made a simple frame using the "Hopi" frame brush, and placed the AI graphic into InDesign. When I distill the ID to a PDF, some of the lines in the frame appear too thick. When I zoom way in, this problem goes away, which makes me think the printed graphic will be fine. But for showing a comp on screen, this won't do. The problem remains no matter which PDF Preset I use for distilling the ID doc.
Please see attached images. If anyone has a solution to this, I'll be grateful.
Thanks.

Possible bug: oulining text w/ flattener in CS5

Try the new Publish Online (Preview) feature in InDesign CC 2015 !
Publish Online (Preview) is a technology preview feature that is available in English versions of InDesign CC 2015. The feature lets you effortlessly publish InDesign documents online. These documents can then be viewed with full fidelity in a desktop or tablet web browser with a delightful viewing experience, and without requiring a plug-in. If a richer document experience is desired, you can add buttons, slideshows, animation, audio, and video using the interactive authoring features of InDesign before publishing the document online.
The published document is intended to be a digital version of an InDesign document that will simply work on all devices that support a web browser. You can email the published document URL or simply share it on Facebook.
Try publishing a finished document by clicking the Publish Online button on the Application Bar or you can also choose File -> Publish Online (Preview)..To access or manage all your published documents, choose File -> Web Dashboard..For more details, see online help.
After trying it out, please give us feedback on the feature by filling this survey - https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/PublishOnline_Survey
I NEED HELP!!! Interactive Indesign flip book for Website & FTP troubles
Greetings everyone,
First and foremost I am trying to make a flip book with animation, audio and video, with the intent of putting this flip book on a website and blog.
I have made the book and while I am new to the program I believe I made the book properly.
- I designed the book using the digital publishing work space
- I imported the audio, video and animation via a tutorial on YouTube.
Where I am confused is at the following step
- I saved the file as a SWF and a PDF
Is that proper for what I am trying to do. When I send the SWF and PDF to a friend for troubleshooting purposes. However the friend can not hear the audio or see the animation nor video on neither file. Can anyone give me how to save my project properly and hold the audio, animation and video.
Next I did some research and learned that my book needs to be somewhere online (I know that the proper saving is key at this point) And I should be using my FTP service and when I upload my book on my FTP I should then be able to get an embedded code or URL from the FTP server and be able to link that to my site.
Even though the video and audio is not showing I at least wanted to see the book on the site.
So I used FileZilla and uploaded the SWF and PDF files, (because I really didn't know which would work). However I don't know what to do from there. I called my FTP server and was told that I need to call the website building program I'm using. She sounded distracted so I'm not sure how much I trust her.
How can I get my book on my site. That's all I want!
CEPHtmlEngine slows Computer (Mac) and solution.
Hello Adobe and CC users,
I saw there are already other posts about the "famous" CEPHtmlEngine, I got a new (2 months old) iMac 27 Retina (with the highest config.) and I noticed that when i launch (for the 1st time) any of the Adobe CC programs (it can be InDesign or Photoshop or another) they very very slow. It seems that something is making the CPU working a lot. After a little time spent in the Mac Task Manager i found that CEPHtmlEngine copy itself two to three times and each copy "calls" the CPU at least 20/50 times. I found a momentary solution by manually closing all CEPHtmlEngine. By doing this all programs work fast and well as usual and there are no errors or problems. You have to close the CEPHtmlEngine and not the CEPHtmlEngine Helper: the helper is just the "son" and if you close it the engine will create another one. Last thing: the CEPHtmlEngine will not appear again until you restart the computer.
This worked on my computer so I just wrote this to give Adobe (one more) notification of the problem and to give all Mac Users a solution (it could work on Windows too but I cannot try it) that can be helpful until an upgrade will fix this.
P.S.: I got the CC software and all apps upgraded to latest version.
