I have a 192 page book document. There are 28 cross references in the book. When I export the book using File, Adobe PDF Presets, Adobe PDF E-Book, I get a message saying that there are unresolved or out-of-date cross references in the document.  (I am exporting as spreads, if that matters).

 

But when I go to Window, Type & Tables, Cross References, every cross reference from the top to the bottom has a green dot in the status column.

 

It is true that most of these changed since the time that I created them. (They are pointing to an answer key in the appendix. What was once pages 205-209 is now pages 180-183). But they are all reporting the correct page number now.

 

I scroll to the top and to the bottom of the list. All 28 of the cross references have a green dot.

 

I am used to getting this message and it is helpful to remind me that I have to update cross references. But it seems like Adobe InDesign CC 2015.1 Release is automatically updating the cross references for me. But then warning me that it needs to be done.

 

I am tempted to ignore the message. Is there some other place other than the Cross References panel where I might have cross references?

Hello,

 

I need a way to calculate oval's in indesign.

 

here is what i have tried so far:

 

open indesign > new Document > make an oval at the cordinates below > save as ***.idml > change the name to ***.zip > extract the files to folder > open Spreads/spread_ud7.xml in notepad++ to see the pathpoints as shown below.

now that i have the pathpoints i need to know how indesign generates this cordinates.

I know that with a rectangle it goes like this:

Anchor="x + y"                                   LeftDirection="x + y"                                  RightDirection="x + y"

Anchor="x + (y + height)"                    LeftDirection="x + (y + height)"                    RightDirection="x + (y + height)"

Anchor="(x + width) + (y + height)"     LeftDirection="(x + width) + (y + height)"     RightDirection="(x + width) + (y + height)"

with the Oval i got as far as:

Anchor(1)and(2)           = x - the first one of the itemtransform.

 

can anyone point me in the right direction or help me out!!?

was saving an indeed file and indesign crashed.  After rebooting it says "file is gone, or it is missing or I don't have permission or it's in use by another program".  Need help getting my file back, help?!

Help.. indd file suddenly is damaged and causing InDesign to crash every time I try to open the file.

Hello,

 

I was working on my project last night and when I saved it, an error message popped up saying the file is damaged and cannot be saved. And it caused InDesign to crash and since then I'm unable to open the file.

Everytime I try to open it, I get attached error message.

 

I've tried making copy or placing the file into new document and both don't work...

 

Please help advise if there's any other way than starting over?

Is it possible to position text horizontally on a baseline? Below is how the designer intended the text to appear - a superior % sign and the word "OFF" underneath it. In their spec document, the word "OFF" is in a separate Text Frame.

 

This is how the text appears when typed in InDesign. Is there any command or method in InDesign that will let me pull the word "off" back so that it is in alignment with the left edge of the % sign? I would like to eliminate the need for putting the word "OFF" in a separate Text Frame. Thanks for any ideas on this.

Since CS6, I have had a problem that happens every now and then. Sometimes it takes months for it to happen again, but this morning it happened twice in a 10 minute span. I can't figure out what sort of conflict it is, but I am losing my patience with this.

 

When the hand tool no longer toggles with the space bar, I can't use the program. When I can't use the program, I stop making money.

 

EVERY TIME THIS HAPPENS, I HAVE TO STOP EVERYTHING AND RESTART.

 

Should I mention that I've been paying for Adobe products since the late 90s?

 

I don't want to hear about deleting files and restarting things, checking to see if my space bar is stuck, etc. Workarounds are for freeware.

 

Fix it. Now.

Good day all,

 

I had a question in regards to InDesign's new Publish Online feature. I attended Adobe MAX earlier this month, and attended a session centered around InDesign's new Publish Online feature. I recall from the session that the host of the session said the link that is generated after publishing online could be updated automatically, but I am unable to locate this feature. I want to be able to share the link with clients, make adjustments to the file based on feedback etc., and then update the file without creating a new link. I am running the latest version of InDesign.

 

Is this a feature that is upcoming? Or simply one that I am unable to locate? Any help is appreciated!

I've never seen this in ten years of using InDesign. I've got some type. I want to color it. I select the type. In Swatches, I choose the type icon. I choose a dark blue color. Nothing happens. It doesn't change to any color, not just blue. Why is this happening? I've closed and restarted ID twice now. It's driving me nuts.

 

I'm using 2015.1 CC, on a Mac.

Hi there

 

I've just opened up an Indesign file in the latest version of Adobe InDesign and for some reason, on my layers panel have lost the little square layer indicator on the right (see below)

 

This is really frustrating me, I'm sure it's just a setting somewhere, but I cant find it.

 

Any help will be greatly appreciated, so thanks in advance.

Hiya,

 

I am trying to find a solution on how to created the JLYT easier way.

I work in the corporation and I got 50k wristbands with bar codes and serial numbering to produce

but we are experiencing some problems when the file is sent to HP Press .. we are getting two white random lines on the job ...

In that case before we find the solution we have to create PDF file through smart stream which takes nearly 8h to produce only 10k....

 

Is there a way where you can merge the JLYT file with the barcodes and have it as one file and then only bring the data file on the press . ?

 

Or is there a quicker way of creating PDF file with the bar codes and serial numbering through smart stream which doesnt take nearly 8h for 10k pcs.... ?

 

Anything what will speed up the process of making large quantities with generated bar codes and serial numbering, or can you create the bar codes straigh in INDesign?

 

Is there any plug in for InDesign which generates them straight in the program ?

Hi there, I'm working on an InDesign file that someone else created. It has a master page set up with all the information I need in which to make some numbered tags. There are 222 tags to be made, each with a different number on them. Is there a way to auto-number the specific text box on the master page to start at a certain number, and increase by 1 for each page in the document?

My InD CC 2015 wont open. It crashes upon launch. I've emptied cache files, deleted fonts from all folders, restarted, Uninstalled... everything I can think of and I have a deadline in 2 days. I'm on Yosemite and my Photoshop & Illustrator CC 2015 are both working.

We are getting the same issue on at least 3 people using InDesign CS6

 

Event viewer Shows Application Error with Event ID 1000.  

 

Also we cannot update the software to patch it because it says File Server Not Found.

I recently upgraded to a new computer and tried to install my creative cloud on it. Downloads fine however when I go to install it says that it is damaged and to redownload. ( I have redownloaded 10+ times with the same error) Anyone have a fix for this?

Hello all,

 

Libraries that I create in InDesign (2014.2) do not sync with Creative Cloud. And also the other way around, when I create a library on the CC website, the library does not show up in my Libraries panel in InDesign.

According to the screenshot below I am unable to connect to the server, but I am able to access the CC website from this computer.

 

Any thoughts or work arounds?

The CC Libraries panel does not work in any of the applications, Photoshop, InDesign, Illustrator. Clicking the panel he is black and can not use. Use Windows 10 on an Intel i7
