Hello,

 

I currently have a document with several short videos (only a couple seconds long) and would like to export it to SWF so that I can upload it to a HTML hoster. But for some reason, when I export it the Resources folder is not automatically created. It creates the HTML and SWF file but not the folder. I have exported several other documents (without videos) and the Resources folder is created, but this one will not work.

 

When I open the HTML by itself it still plays, but of course it doesn't work when trying to upload it to the hosting website.

 

I tried creating my own resources folder, calling it "filename_Resources" and putting the video files in there, but it still doesn't work.

 

Any suggestions?

I've found this to be an issue ever since I first started using indesign 3 years ago, and its' occurrence is rare so there has to be a reason behind it happening. How come sometimes when shift selecting objects, other random objects that you have already selected will unselect themselves? For example, I am selecting 4 random objects on my spread, I select 1, then 2, then 3, then 4, and object 2 unselects itself when I selected object 4?

I'm getting a problem with a document where the preflight is telling me that "Times New Roman" and "Arial" is missing in a pdf imported. However, I have these fonts installed in my system. I was getting this error in version cc 2017 and I am getting this error in version cc 2018 as well. What should I do?

I've tried all day to use the Eyedropper tool in InDesign CC 2018. Every time I click anywhere with the eyedropper tool the program crashes. Is this happening to anyone else? It is specifically happening to text within a table.

 

Since I am using a document that was first created in InDesign CC 2017 I did some testing to see if that was the issue. It appears it does not matter which version of InDesign a document was originally created in as I tried creating a new document to see if I could replicate the issue. Same thing happened - to text specifically within a table.

 

I then did some more testing and created a brand new document and tried the eyedropper tool within normal text boxes, not a table, and the eyedropper tools works just fine. I then created a table in that new document and tried to use the eyedropper tool....crashed again. So it appears it is only happening to my text inside a table.

 

So frustrating, HELP!!

Anyone ever created an editable file which is exported as a PDF directly in indesign?

 

I have tried creating it in adobe acrobat however this has restrictions on who can then edit the file - only people with adobe acrobat can.

Liebe InDesing-Cracks,

 

ich brauche eine Lösung für ein InDesign Problem innerhalb des Seitenbedienfeldes.

Genutzt wird die Adobe CC Version 12.0 (...) auf einem Microsoft Surface 4.

 

Folgendes Problem tritt auf:

 

Ich öffne eine InDesign Datei mit ca. 40 Seiten. Mein Seitenbedienfeld ist jedoch nicht scrollbar und schneidet die Seiten einfach bei 25 ab.

Das heißt ich füge viele, viele leere Seiten ein, damit ich Seite 40 überhaupt sehen kann.

Wenn ich in den Einstellungen eine horizontale Ausrichtung angebe, schneidet InDesign z.B. bei Seite 13 ab und in der folgenden Zeile geht es aber erst mit 16 weiter. Auch hier werden einfach 3 Seiten abgeschnitten, an die ich auf biegen und brechen nicht heran komme.

 

Any ideas??

Hallo,

 

wir haben ein Print-PDF für einen Kunden gerechnet. Leider hat sich über die

"Exportieren"-Funktion ein Fehler eingeschlichen. Und zwar hängt der Text

im Kalendarium zu weit unten. Bis Monat April ist noch alles in Ordnung.

Wenn ich das PDF über eine Postscipt-Datei und den Distiller rechne ist es in Ordnung.

Zu sehen alles in den beiden Screenshots.

Indesign war CC17.

 

Weiß jemand woran das liegt?

How do I designate that the Master page floats above ALL graphics? All other graphics should be below!

Got a new system. Windows 10 pro 64 bit. Just implemented it on Nov 16. Was using a windows 7 pro 64 bit system prior. Both systems are running InDesign CC 2018 with the most current update. All files stored on a server.

 

Every file that I created in Windows 7 are giving me printing problems. None of my printer settings except printer drawer selection are sticking. Even the stuff I change in the main printer dialogue box. I will change the paper size and add some crop marks. Nothings stays when I actually print it. If I go into setup and into the printer preferences to change things like drawer selection. Duplexing, Image Position etc. etc. NOTHING actually sticks except drawer selection. The file that goes to the printer is not duplexing or doing anything that I asked of it. If I go back into the printer preferences everything is back to the default again (except drawer selection).

 

Any new file I create on the windows 10 machine is just fine. All setting stick like they are supposed to. I can save the job and quit out of ID and come back and reopen the file and all of the settings are still there. Like I have been used to for many many years.

 

The only way to fix the windows 7 files are to open them, create a new document. Copy and paste into the new document and save. A save-as does not work. even if I give it a new file name. The only way it works is to start a new document. That is an OK workaround for one or two page documents but I can't possibly do that on  large documents. Things like text box links get lost that way and just makes a mess of everything. I have never run into this problem when I have switched OS in the past.

 

I have 3 printers in house and it does the same thing for all three printers. All other Adobe programs are just fine with the printers. Also all my office programs and any other thing in windows that needs to print. Just ID is giving me the problem.

 

All printer drivers are up to date. All system and window drivers are up to date. All Adobe programs are up to date. I have removed all the programs Thru my CC App including the preferences. I've also delete the CC app with the adobe CC app uninstaller.

 

Fresh install has done nothing.

Hi there,

I'm trying to align on the same line some part of my text to the left and some part of my text to the right.

I've tried using Tabs but couldn't seem to be able to set them up properly.

Hi

 

I am creating a booklet with different project names that each have a number and a variable 'P' (PXXXX) that is mentioned in the subtitle. This number with the P should now appear as running header. I manage to do that with a chapter title (which usually appears 'First on page'. But what do I do, if this text variable comes NOT as 'first on page'?

 

I would appreciate any help on that!

Hi,

 

Has anybody come across this issue with InDesign CC 2017: the application opens and all the menus are working within Mac Menu Bar at the top, but the application window and the pages are not visible.

 

Greatly appreciate your help.

Absturz InDesign 2. Anfrage CS6 Version 8.1

beim einfügen (Platziren) von Wordtabellen (2010) in InDesign stürzt das Programm ab ohne Fehlermeldung, das tritt auch auf wenn ich gleiche Tabellen löschen möchte.

An Formate in der Tabelle kann es nicht liegen, da ich noch einmal neue Tabellen erstellt habe ohne fremde Formate.

Also ich habe ein Buch mit mehreren Kapitel, was ich schon einige Jahre bearbeite und immer mit neuen Angaben (Tabellen Texte und Bilder füttere).

Mir ist das dieses Jahr schon einmal passiert, hier habe ich das Buch auf einen anderen Rechner geöffnet und neu abgespeichert und es lief bis heut.

Welche Möglichkeit könnten noch die Ursache für diese Abstürzte sein.

 

Ich würde mich über jeden konstruktiven Beitrag freuen, da ich diese Broschüre schnellstmöglich fertigstellen muss.

Es gibt Personen die aus Excel Tabellen einstellen, kommt für mich nicht in frage, weil es keine Möglichkeit habe die zuletzt geänderten Tabellen wieder in Excel zurückzuholen. Was in Word möglich ist.

In den Tabellen sind viele Zeichen und 4 Schriftarten verschiedene Rahmen und ganz unterschiedliche Abstände und Absätze.

Format ist A5

und hier habe ich die Seiten in linke und rechte eingeteilt damit Sie rechts und links zu einer Zeile die gleiche höhe haben kann und beim Druck über 2 Seiten lesbar ist.

Ich hoffe so sind die Angabe schon etwas genauer, da ich ja angewandt wurde zu wenig darüber geschrieben zu haben (Auto kaputt)

Hi guys,

 

at work, we use a CC for Teams subscription. I have a bug that none of the others have and has remained throughout the installation of a newer version of InDesign and trashing the prefs.

 

If I type a new text I cannot select alternate glyphs; there is no on-context menu and if I manually select another version of the glyph it will just show the standard. If I use a file with text made by a colleague it works normally. We use macOS Sierra 10.12.6 with the latest version of InDesign.

 

Anyone know what's happening? I haven't been able to find it on this forum, nor by googling it. I'm hoping it's a simple setting I'm overlooking

For may years now i have religiously been using PDF/x1a for outputting files to my Harlequin RIP based workflow, and i have now recently been compelled to bring my self up to more modern standards (with great thanks to Bob Levine and Dov Isaacs).

 

I am now curious as to the benefits of switching from PDF/x1a to PDF/x-3.

 

The work intended to test this on is all in house created for in house presses, using InDesign CC 2018.

 

Any pointers or guidance would be greatly appreciated.

Help! I've updated to InDesign 2018 and now when I paste items from previously created documents the vertical justification automatically changes from 'bottom' to 'top' - anyone know how to fix this?

** Adobe InDesign v12,  OS: Windows 10 - font: Gotham OTF **

 

We are experiencing problems with the Gotham font – freshly purchased all glyphs were initially available, then on reopening the same document, all non-italic fonts had lost whole groups of glyphs– affected were the special sets, including all super/subscripts, alternates.

 

Cleared the entire font set, reinstalled it, placed fonts in the InDesign fonts folder - to no avail, they will not display.

 

NB, the font works fine in AI, even Word... so all fonts are there.

 

Since Gotham is popular (and now used as part of our branding) – has anyone experienced and found a solution to the problem?
